Ubisoft has finally confirmed the existence of the long-rumored HD remake of Assassin’s Creed Rogue. This entry in the ongoing franchise shook things up by providing a new perspective through Shay Cormac, an Assassin turned assassin-hunting Templar. It was a much needed shift in the standard narrative, but it was largely missed due to the fact that it solely resided on last-gen consoles (with the exception of PC) while Assassin’s Creed Unity took center stage on current-gen systems.
Now, with Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners can finally check out this installment without dusting off their older hardware. The updated version will sport “higher-resolution textures and shadows, improved environmental rendering, and new visual effects.” Furthermore, those in possession of a PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X will be able to enjoy certain enhancements, such as 4K resolution.
All previously released DLC — The Armor of Sir Gunn, The Siege of Fort de Sable, Master Templar Pack, and Explorer Pack — will come bundled with this definitive version as well as an all new Bayek legacy outfit for Shay to wear. Unfortunately, we do not currently have an image of the Irish-accented Templar donning the Egyptian garb of the series’ most recent protagonist.
