Rumor: Bandai Namco Is Developing Metroid Prime 4 & Unannounced Nintendo Switch Exclusive Ridge Racer 8

Nintendo brought out the big guns during their E3 2017 video presentation as they revealed the existence of the in development Metroid Prime 4. Now many months later, we still haven’t heard anything about who specifically is developing it, but now an interesting internet listing may have given us that answer along with the leak of an unannounced Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Retro Studios brought us the fantastic Metroid Prime trilogy across the GameCube and Wii, but later moved onto the Donkey Kong Country series and the unknown game they’ve most recently been working on. When Metroid Prime 4 was first announced, many hoped Retro Studios was involved, but just about the only confirmation we got about the game was that they weren’t developing it.

A rumor popped up awhile back that Bandai Namco might actually be developing the game for Nintendo, which now has surfaced again with a new listing on a developer’s LinkedIn profile that was found by YouTuber Doctre81, who supposedly has had a history of finding stuff like this.

Metroid Prime 4

The above image was supposedly taken from the LinkedIn page of a Leader Designer at Bandai Namco Studios Singapore that listed three of their current projects, which includes an “Unannounced IP” that’s listed as an FPS/Adventure exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, which sounds an awful lot like Metroid Prime. Combining this with the previous rumor, that would seem to point to Bandai Namco indeed developing the game in some fashion.

Maybe even more interesting is the mention of Ridge Racer 8, which is an unannounced game, listed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. This would definitely be a nice exclusive grab for the Switch if this is actually a legitimate listing on LinkedIn.

For now, all we can do is take this information with a grain of salt, but it will be interesting to see if this comes to be true in the future as we learn more about Metroid Prime 4 and obviously if Ridge Racer 8 does exist.
